Legal Compliance
We comply with all applicable health and safety laws, including but not limited to:
- Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974
- Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations (PUWER) 1998
- Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations (LOLER) 1998
- Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) 2002
Risk Assessments
We carry out regular risk assessments for all equipment to identify hazards and mitigate risks before equipment is hired out.
Inspection and Maintenance
All tools and machinery are serviced and inspected in accordance with manufacturer guidelines. Equipment showing signs of excessive wear or damage is immediately removed from our inventory until repaired and tested.
Customer Safety Instructions
- Each hire includes a safety briefing and relevant operating instructions (either printed or digital).
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) guidance is provided, and PPE is available to hire or purchase.
- Customers are required to confirm they are competent in using the equipment or have received sufficient instruction.
Storage and Handling
Customers are advised on correct storage and handling of equipment to reduce risks of fire, injury, or environmental damage.
Manual Handling
Where equipment is heavy or awkward, lifting instructions and mechanical aids are available to avoid personal injury.
Accident and Incident Reporting
We maintain a record of any accidents or near misses involving equipment. Customers must report any incidents immediately to help ensure future risk reduction.
Training
All staff are trained in health and safety protocols, equipment handling, and emergency response. Refresher training is provided annually or as required.
Emergency Procedures
- Emergency contact numbers are provided with all hire agreements.
- Clear instructions are provided for power shut-off, fire safety, and first aid.
Review
This policy is reviewed annually and updated in response to any legal or operational changes.
