All equipment remains the property of AY Tool & Equipment Hire Ltd at all times. Hire begins at the confirmed start time and ends when all equipment is returned or collected in full.
The Hirer is fully responsible for the equipment during the hire period. This includes theft, loss, damage, or misuse regardless of cause. Equipment must not be sub-hired or transferred to any third party.
The Hirer must use the equipment as per manufacturer instructions and for its intended purpose. Hirers confirm they are competent or will obtain instruction prior to use.
The Hirer is responsible for insuring the equipment during the hire period unless otherwise agreed in writing. All reasonable precautions must be taken to prevent damage or theft.
Damage or loss will be charged at full replacement or repair value, including lost hire days. Theft must be reported within 24 hours to the Police and the Company with a crime reference.
Full payment is required at time of booking. Any additional charges (damage, loss, cleaning) are invoiced upon return and must be paid within 7 days.
A late fee of £30 per day per item applies for returns beyond the agreed date. Continued non-return will be treated as theft and legal action may be taken.
Deposits may be taken at our discretion and are refundable post-inspection. Deductions may apply for late return or damage.
Delivery/collection services are available subject to availability. Additional charges apply based on distance. Safe access and unloading is the customer’s responsibility.
We reserve the right to cancel or refuse any booking. This includes failed ID verification, unpaid balances, or misuse concerns.
All hires are governed by Scottish law. Any disputes will be resolved under Scottish legal authority.
